Plans For Denver All-Boys Charter School Scrapped

DENVER (AP) — Plans to open an all-boys charter school in Denver are being scrapped.

The school, modeled after the successful Miller-McCoy Academy in New Orleans, had been set to open next August and serve boys in grades 6 through 12. However, Denver Public Schools announced Wednesday that the Denver school’s board of directors was giving up its charter because the founders of Miller-McCoy are taking new jobs.

Tiffany Hardrick has been named the assistant schools superintendent in Newark and Keith Sanders has been hired by the Delaware Department of Education.
