CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4) – A 20-year-old woman faces charges of vehicular homicide after a Halloween night crash killed a man.

Erin Finn made her first appearance in court Friday morning, and is being held on $50,000 bond. Police arrested her on Thursday evening, hours after she reported that her mother’s car had been stolen.

Police say Finn asked for a ride from the scene of the crash in the early morning hours Wednesday on C-470 near the Interstate 25 interchange.

They say surveillance video shows she ended up at a 7-Eleven just minutes afterwards. The convenience store is located about two miles away.

The arrest affadavit indicates a man who called 911 from the scene gave her a ride.

Part of the affidavit says before police arrived a woman approached him at the scene saying “I need to get out of here.” He let her sit in his car but waited for police.

When officers arrived, the man told them he didn’t actually see the crash so they let him leave and he took the woman to the 7-Eleven.

While at the store the woman made a call for someone to pick her up. The man says the woman was wearing a black halloween costume with a white painted face and a bloody area on her forehead.

A clerk also told police a young Hispanic woman was there and called someone to pick her up.

Police followed up on several leads. The affidavit says they discovered a black glove outside Finn’s apartment that was similar to one that was found at the scene of the accident and matching the costume seen in the surveillance video.

Prosecutor pointed to all that evidence and more in court Friday morning, identifying Finn as the driver. They also say other witnesses said she was driving more than 100 mph before the crash.

Finn made her first court appearance by video and stood with her arms crossed, looking almost irritated to be there.

Dennis Dolce, 51, died in the crash.
