There was a time when I would dread yet another Batman sequel (Thank you, Joel Schumacher!). With this one, I am dreading the end of it because they have made all three movies with exactly the tone I’ve hoped. Dark, serious, intent and fulfilling. Saw it and it was well worth the wait. (It may be my old ears, which have been pummeled over the years by standing too close to 12×20 speaker arrays, but I could NOT understand a word Bane said. That said, the action spoke louder than the words throughout.)

Yet another reboot of another comic book. HOWEVER — this one actually seems to have the cast and the legs to pull it through to the finish line. The writing is lazy, but Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, plus the energy of the images are top notch. Despite my dislike of constant Hollywood reboots (You got an idea? I don’t got an idea. You got an idea? Yeah, let’s reboot Star Wars!), this one may truly work.
