CBS Denver: Family Of Murder Victim Sues City Of Denver, 911 Operator Sep 24th 2012, 23:13 CBS Denver CBSDenver.com - News for Colorado and Denver from CBS4, plus Sports, Weather, Traffic and Top Spots Family Of Murder Victim Sues City Of Denver, 911 Operator Sep 24th 2012, 23:13 DENVER (CBS4) – The family of a man shot and killed after a 911 operator told him to come back into Denver is now suing the dispatcher and the city. Jimma Reat and three others, all Sudanese immigrants, called for help after they were threatened at gunpoint at 10th and Sheridan in April. They drove into Wheat Ridge, but say a dispatcher told them to come back into Denver to meet with Denver police. The men did, and the suspects then opened fire. Reat died. The lawsuit is asking for unspecified money and punitive damages from both the dispatcher and the city.
