(AP) — Colorado State University is working with an oil and gas drilling company on a study to minimize water pollution. University researchers will work with Noble Energy Inc. on a new $1.4 million U.S. Department of Energy grant to improve water management for oil and gas production in the Denver-Julesburg Basin in Weld County. Researchers said Wednesday there are 19,000 active wells in Weld County and most produce some water. They say more information is needed on water treatment, reuse and agricultural use.
